Yoga contributes to overall well-being, especially for the most important organ in your body: your skin!
Indeed, it improves blood circulation, which is why you'll notice a radiant complexion after your yoga session. It allows your body to oxygenate and eliminate toxins, thus helping to maintain the glow of your skin.
Yoga not only gives you a radiant and glowing complexion, but it also enhances the elasticity of your skin by stimulating the production of collagen, the protein responsible for youthfulness. Facial yoga is a branch of yoga that accelerates this process, giving you a more youthful appearance.
Facial yoga or "yotox" can be practiced anytime and anywhere, whether it's in traffic, at the office, or in front of a mirror. The exercises will be much more effective if you connect with yourself.
- Yoga Poses
They help increase blood circulation to the head and face. Here are a few examples:
The Cobra Pose, the Fish Pose, the Plow Pose, the Shoulder Stand, the Triangle Pose, and the Child's Pose. These poses, known as "chest openers," increase oxygenation in the system and blood supply to the head.
Result: a clean and radiant skin.
The more you smile, the more your face will naturally shine!
- Pranayamas: Breathing Exercises
For some women, acne is more problematic in summer, especially for those with oily skin. Pranayamas: Sheetali and Sheetkari, can help provide a cooling effect on the skin.
Result: the skin retains its radiance.
- Detoxification Techniques
Kapal Bhati is an effective detoxification technique. It lives up to its name, as Kapal means forehead and Bhati means shining. Through vigorous exhalation, detoxification occurs.
Result: naturally radiant skin.
- Meditation
Regular meditation practice can heal hypersensitive skin in the short term. Meditation also ensures better sleep, and quality sleep directly affects our epidermis's appearance (less tense features, reduced dark circles).
Meditating is also about learning to breathe better. With better oxygenation, the cells in our body regenerate faster, and toxins are eliminated more quickly. The more you meditate, the more your inner radiance will be reflected outwardly.
Result: clearer complexion and plumper skin.
- Face Yoga
Three minutes a day of facial yoga exercises will help firm the facial muscles. Massage your jaws to reduce stress, your eyebrows for an instant relaxation boost. Try "the kiss and smile technique" (use your lips as if you're kissing a baby, then smile as wide as possible).
The more you smile, the more your face will naturally glow! Try to maintain a positive attitude. Your state of mind reflects on your face.
